15. Deep Hip Release
24m
This class focuses on releasing deep tension in the hips through gentle somatic movement.
The hips often hold both physical and emotional tension. Long periods of sitting, protective movement patterns, and stress can cause the muscles around the hips to tighten and grip, which can pull the pelvis out of alignment and place pressure on the lower back.
In this class we use slow, subtle movements to access the hip joint from deep within the body. Rather than forcing large stretches, these small somatic mobilizations help the nervous system let go of tension patterns that have been held for a long time.
The movements may feel simple, but they can create surprisingly deep releases.
Often you do not realize how much tension has released until you compare one side of the body to the other and feel the difference in space, ease, and mobility.
As the hips soften, the pelvis can reorganize and the pull on the spine begins to decrease. This allows the back, hips, and surrounding muscles to move with greater ease.
This class helps unwind deep tension in the hips while restoring a more relaxed and supported relationship between the hips, pelvis, and spine.
