8. Combining Breath and Movement
18m
In this class we begin combining breath, alignment, and movement.
Using a chair and pillow for support, we work in a seated position to explore the relationship between the pelvis and the rib cage. These two structures create the foundation for both breathing and core support.
When the pelvis and rib cage are well organized in space, the diaphragm has room to move and the breath can travel through the body more efficiently. When this relationship is disrupted, breathing becomes shallow and the body often compensates by gripping through the neck, shoulders, or lower back.
In this class you will learn where the pelvis ideally sits, how the rib cage stacks above it, and why their relationship is essential for healthy breathing and core function.
From this supported position, we begin layering breath with gentle movement. You will also be introduced to an active exhale, using the breath to naturally engage the deep core without gripping or forcing.
This helps you begin discovering how core support can arise through breath rather than tension, building a more functional connection between breathing, alignment, and movement.
