12. Side Body, Chest and Shoulder Release
14m
This class focuses on releasing tension through the side body, chest, and shoulders.
Many of us carry tightness through the sides of the torso and across the front of the chest from daily habits like sitting, working at devices, and protective postures that round the shoulders forward. When these areas become shortened or restricted, they limit the ability of the rib cage to expand and reduce mobility through the spine.
In this class we begin by lengthening and opening the side body. Creating space along the sides of the torso allows the ribs to move more freely, improves breathing capacity, and helps reduce unnecessary tension through the neck and shoulders.
From there we explore gentle thoracic rotation and chest opening movements. These movements restore mobility to the mid spine, which is designed to rotate and extend but often becomes stiff from daily posture patterns.
As the chest and shoulders begin to open, pressure is taken off the neck and upper back while allowing the shoulder joints to move with more freedom and support.
This class helps restore length and mobility through the sides of the body, improve spinal rotation, and create more space for the breath to move throughout the rib cage.
