This class focuses on discovering and strengthening the deep core while building on the alignment concepts you have already learned.
You will need two light weights or water bottles for this class.
The deep core works most effectively when the rib cage and pelvis are well organized in space. When the rib cage sits in the right place, the diaphragm, abdominal muscles, and deep spinal stabilizers can work together to support the spine.
In this class you will begin to feel how this alignment allows the deep core to activate naturally rather than through gripping or bracing.
We also explore the important role of the shoulder blades. When the shoulder blades are well positioned on the rib cage, the serratus muscles along the sides of the ribs begin to engage. These muscles help connect the arms to the torso and create additional support for the core.
As the serratus activates and the shoulder blades move well along the rib cage, the core becomes more integrated with the upper body. This connection helps stabilize the spine while allowing the arms and torso to move with greater control and support.
This class deepens your awareness of how rib cage alignment, shoulder blade position, and deep core engagement work together to create strength that supports the whole body.
