This class focuses on restoring and strengthening external and internal rotation in the hips.
Healthy hips are designed to rotate. When this rotational movement is limited, the glutes often struggle to activate properly and the body begins compensating through the lower back, knees, or surrounding muscles. Over time this can contribute to weak glutes, commonly called “dead butt,” and place additional strain on the pelvis and spine.
Hip rotation is also closely connected to pelvic floor function and overall pelvic stability. When the hips move well, the glutes, deep hip muscles, and pelvic floor are able to work together more effectively to support the body.
In this class we explore hip mobilizations, hinges, and pelvic rotations that help restore movement within the hip joint. These movements help build awareness of how the pelvis and hips move together while strengthening the muscles that support this mobility.
You will need a yoga brick, book, or folded blankets, along with a wall or low sturdy surface for support.
