This class deepens your understanding of how the shoulder blades and rib cage work together to support the core.
The shoulder blades are designed to move along the back of the rib cage. When they move well and stay connected to the rib cage, they help create stability through the upper body and support movement from the deep core rather than from the neck and shoulders.
When this relationship is lost, many people begin overusing the neck and upper back muscles to move the arms, which often leads to tension and discomfort.
In this class you will begin discovering how the shoulder blades should glide and move on the rib cage and how this connection helps stabilize the body as the spine moves through space.
Using a light weight or even a bottle of water, we explore how the arms, shoulder blades, rib cage, and core work together while the body moves in different relationships to gravity.
Through these movements you will learn how to create space in the upper body while supporting yourself from deeper within the core, allowing the arms and shoulders to move with greater ease and stability.
