From Queen to Destiny’s Child, the booty has been the focus of so many who’ve come before me and it’s all because your glutes are an important muscle group that needs to be strong in order for your body to feel + function well.
Strong glutes don’t just look great but are so important for our basic needs like posture + balance + keeping the rest of our body protected and pain free. The glutes play an integral part in our functional movement and show up for us to help stabilize our body when we stand up, push off to walk or run, and balance when twisting. When the glutes are weak (often from excessive sitting), we instinctively grip our butt to try to find that stabilization but that gripping manifests as low back, knee, hip flexor, and even foot pain.
This open-level series is about strengthening all of our glute muscles—from the smaller stabilizers (which are harder to activate) to the bigger outer muscles we use daily. We’ll create balance in our muscles to establish harmony, a cute booty + healthy hips, back, knees, and feet!
An open-level class that works all sides of the glutes to create balance and support for the pelvis, spine, and knees -- essential for creating glutes strength (which we all could use more of). This is a great class to repeat often and as you progress, gradually build up the resistance.
The perfect class for anyone new to Pilates or someone wanting to improve their technique. Our movements will focus on key posture muscles (the glutes, core + upper back) to improve strength and stability.
We're mastering the hip hinge in this class (the ability to disassociate the leg and torso at the hip) which is key to preventing low back pain. We'll go through everyday Pilates movements like squats and lunges that are key for hip hinging and also creating a deep leg + booty burn!
